I didn't get the job that I wanted. They must have found some one with the professional experience that I lack, but on the other hand I came up with an idea. I don't have anything going for me here in Chicago. There aren't any jobs here that I really want and the ones that I want don't seem to want me...so I've decided to go to The Academy of Art in San Fransisco to get my Masters degree in 2d animation. 2d animation is what I've always wanted to do, but I never really got that kind of education where I went to school. I did learn a lot though at my other school. I also think this will be amazing because I'll get to learn the things I've always wanted to, I'll be in California where all of the big studios are, and hopefully when everything is said and done, I'll have a kick ass portfolio that will land me a good job. I'm pretty excited about this.
At the moment I'm printing out pieces to make a new portfolio to send to them. I plan on sending out my portfolio next week and then I'll get the official word if I've been excepted. I've got my fingers crossed! I want to go here so bad. I don't know what I'll do if I don't get in.
It's awesome that you're a game art major and you can draw pretty well. I've met too many game art kids that aren't very good when it comes to drawing or the concept work that goes into the planning stages before you make the game. Good luck with the rest of your life drawing and school. If you ever have a question about something feel free to ask.
I agree - it's a challenge, yet always a good learning experience, especially when drawing a model. I feel I always learn something new when I'm drawing from one of the models in Life Drawing class. If you've never drawn from looking at a person before, it's really different and a lot easier, I find.
Thanks, I love drawing people. It's always a good challenge. There's always a next step with drawing people I think. Thanks for the kind words and the !
Hey, no problem. Your models are fantastic. You seem to have human anatomy down.
lol You drew Rex too? That's cool. Yep, I'm going into my 3rd quarter now. That's great that you're going to Cali. Good luck there! After I've graduated, my boyfriend and I will either be moving out in that area or to Washinton, as both locations are prime in the way of big gaming industries (not to mention, jah, the weather hehe).
Hm I just seen your photo or something...you look very familiar like I seen you somewhere. Very familiar...hm...tell me where did you live at in Chicago...what area cos before I'd move I was in the Roseland area.
